Dr. Ir. Munasik, M.Sc. He completed his undergraduate education at the Marine Science Study Program, Diponegoro University, in 1992. He earned his Master of Science degree from the Graduate School of Science, University of the Ryukyus, Okinawa, Japan, in 1999. Then, in 2008, he completed a doctoral program at the Faculty of Biology, Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta.
Since 1993, he has been a teaching staff at the Department of Marine Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Diponegoro University. He teaches Diving Expertise, Koralogy, and Marine Resources Conservation courses in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He has taught at the Fisheries Study Program of Gadjah Mada University for fisheries resource conservation courses since 2009.
The author actively participated in Reef Check Indonesia (1997—2019) and has been a member of the Indonesian Coral Reef Study Group since 1995. The author is involved in Reef Health Monitoring activities in South Lampung, Sikka (NTT), and Karimunjawa, Central Java (COREMAP-CTI, 2016—2021). The author is also a competency assessor at RCO-BRIN Professional Certification Institution. Currently, the author is listed as Deputy of Scientific Diving at the Association of Diving School International (ADSI) Indonesia and is the coach of the Marine Diving Club (MDC), Diponegoro University.
