This work provides an inventory of ecological engineering techniques employed mainly in France, but also worldwide. It is devoted to therestoration of coral reefs and their associated ecosystems: seagrasses and mangroves.
It builds on two existing IFRECOR publications: “Reef restoration: Practical guide for management and decision-making”,1 by Michel
Porcher, Sandrine Job and Muriel Schrimm, published in 2003, and “Reef restoration: Concepts and guidelines”,2 by Alasdair Edwards and Edgardo Gomez, published in 2007. The aim of this update is to help contracting authorities, environmental managers, projectn owners and research units to familiarize themselves with the techniques and to use synthetic data to propose solutions adapted for habitat restoration and selected ecological functions.
